About The Position

Serval’s Head of Content Marketing owns the written narrative engine that drives pipeline and market awareness, making Serval inevitable. This role translates product innovation, customer outcomes, and company vision into content that attracts buyers, grows audience, and compounds across channels. It is the written counterpart to Serval’s video and media storytelling, responsible for the ideas, frameworks, and stories people read, share, and cite. Done right, the output of this role won’t feel like “marketing” - it’ll feel like industry thinking and actually valuable content.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in content marketing, editorial, or storytelling roles.
  • Proven ability to grow audiences through content.
  • Strong editorial judgment and narrative instincts.
  • Experience translating complex technical products into compelling stories.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with product marketing, PR, and demand gen.
  • Comfortable operating both strategically and hands-on.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building an editorial engine at a high-growth B2B SaaS or developer-focused company (0→1 or major scale phase).
  • Familiarity with modern SEO and AI search dynamics (AEO), including content optimized for LLM discovery, citations, and answer engines.

Responsibilities

  • Run Serval’s editorial engine. Build and run Serval’s blog, long-form content, and editorial calendar. Translate product innovation and customer impact into a clear narrative. Maintain a consistent voice across company and executive content.
  • Drive pipeline through content. Create demand gen assets: research, gated assets, reports, product deep dives. Partner with Demand Gen to ensure content supports campaigns and conversion - whether workshop / conference content or one-pagers.
  • Own SEO / AEO outcomes. Build content that ranks across search and AI answer engines. Identify high-intent topics aligned with Serval’s buyer journey. Identify high-intent topics aligned to Serval’s buyers.
  • Grow Serval’s owned audience. Own Serval’s LinkedIn editorial strategy. Grow executive and company followership. Build systems for employee and customer amplification.
  • Quarterback major narrative moments. Lead narrative and content coordination for major company moments such as: product launches, fundraising announcements, brand campaigns, and category thought leadership.
  • Drive PR amplification. Align content with PR narratives and announcements. Turn press moments into sustained content distribution.
