About The Position

The Head of Data will lead the evolution of inKind’s data function from a primarily reactive reporting team to a strategic, cross-functional capability that drives enterprise clarity, prioritization, and performance. This role will oversee the Data team (Analytics, BI, and Data Science) while establishing coordinated governance and partnership across Product, Sales, Marketing, and Finance. We expect this leader to responsibly integrate AI and automation into the business. This leader will act as a strategic thought partner to the CRO and executive team while building operational rigor, metric alignment, and scalable infrastructure across the organization.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in analytics, data science, or data leadership, including 3+ years leading teams
  • Demonstrated experience building or maturing a centralized data function within a high-growth organization
  • Strong hands-on capability in SQL and modern analytics tools, with the ability to dive into complex analyses when needed
  • Experience aligning cross-functional stakeholders around shared KPIs and governance standards
  • Proven ability to operate in matrixed or influence-based environments without formal enterprise authority

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in high-growth dual-sided marketplaces, fintech, and/or revenue-driven environments
  • Background supporting revenue organizations (Sales, Marketing, GTM analytics) at scale
  • Experience establishing data governance frameworks and single source of truth environments
  • Familiarity with BI tooling and modern data stacks (e.g., Snowflake, dbt, Looker, Tableau, etc.)
  • Experience integrating data engineering and analytics teams under unified strategy

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement a clear data vision and roadmap aligned to company growth goals
  • Partner closely with the CRO to translate executive priorities into a structured, executable data strategy
  • Lead and develop a high-performing Data team across Analytics, BI, and Data Science, establishing clear ownership, accountability, and delivery standards
  • Design and implement a matrix operating model that enables effective partnership with Product, Sales, Marketing, and Finance while maintaining centralized data governance
  • Establish structured intake, prioritization, and quarterly planning processes to align data initiatives with enterprise business impact
  • Define and enforce company-wide standards for metric definitions, data governance, and reporting consistency to create a trusted single source of truth
  • Drive cross-functional alignment around shared KPIs and standardized measurement frameworks
  • Elevate data from reactive request fulfillment to proactive insight generation, automation, and strategic enablement
  • Lead the development of advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and AI-driven capabilities, including forecasting, segmentation, and performance optimization
  • Identify and implement opportunities to leverage AI and automation to improve decision-making, operational efficiency, and scalable insight generation
  • Establish standards for model and AI governance, validation, monitoring, and documentation to ensure analytical rigor, transparency, and measurable business impact
  • Assess and modernize the current data environment, identifying technical debt, governance gaps, and opportunities for infrastructure refinement
  • Partner with Engineering on data architecture, with a long-term vision for unified data engineering, analytics, and AI capabilities
  • Establish scalable BI and reporting practices, including ownership of prioritization and quality standards
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to executive leadership, translating complex insights and AI-enabled opportunities into clear business recommendations while setting realistic expectations around capacity and timelines
  • Contribute hands-on to high-impact analytical, modeling, or AI-driven initiatives as needed
  • Build career pathways, skill frameworks, and performance standards for data talent
