About The Position

The Head of KYC Program Risk is responsible for maintaining the sustainability of the KYC Program through management of program risks including defining and managing the governance model, providing support for KYC regulatory exams and audits, monitoring and assessing the effectiveness of KYC controls, and measuring the overall health of the program through defined metrics. This role directly manages a team of risk managers dedicated to KYC program risk, governance and policy maintenance and will partner with the first line of defense to gather information to inform risk and governance decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree
  • 10+ years' experience
  • Financial crimes compliance experience in the financial services industry
  • Experience in industry with respect to processes/controls to evaluate Financial Crimes risk
  • Experience in managing / leading high performing staff
  • Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to maintain attention to detail
  • Strong analytical & critical reasoning skills

Responsibilities

  • Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required
  • Defines and manages the governance model for the KYC Program
  • Oversees the KYC Program governance forum/committee
  • Monitors and assesses the effectiveness of KYC controls, facilitate quality assurance processes and provide credible challenge
  • Provides support for KYC regulatory exams and audits
  • Measures overall health of the program through preparing regular reports and metrics
  • Directly manages a team dedicated to KYC program risk and governance
  • Partners with the first line of defense to gather information to inform KYC risk and governance decisions
  • Supports AML Risk Management partners and the first line of defense with interpretation of KYC requirements and manage escalations and Policy exception requests accordingly
  • Stays ahead of the financial crimes compliance regulatory landscape, industry trends, and emerging risks that inform policy decisions
  • Directly manages a team of risk managers dedicated to KYC policy and standard development, interpretation and maintenance
