About The Position

Has joint responsibility with the Branch Manager to provide quality service to the membership through the efficient operation of the front-line. Directly responsible for the supervision of daily teller activities, vault transactions and the audit/security functions of the front-line area.

Requirements

  • One year cumulative teller experience
  • A high school education or GED.
  • Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
  • Must be satisfactorily performing all teller functions.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to supervise.
  • Must demonstrate excellent judgement in order to evaluate accounts and situations for approval.
  • Must be organized and have the ability to move quickly from one priority to another.
  • Must be familiar with all services of the credit union in order to make appropriate referrals.
  • 10-key calculator and computer keyboard skills required; must be accurate with numbers and names.
  • Light lifting required

Responsibilities

  • Assists tellers with daily activities such as check approval, adding checks, locating errors and resolving member related questions.
  • Manages vault cash. Orders daily cash requirement.
  • Responsible for maintaining and monitoring branch equipment including ATM activity and cash dispenser(s).
  • Responsible for maintaining and controlling consignment items.
  • Responsible for the daily branch balancing.
  • Completes reports, coordinates audits, and provides other required documentation on a timely basis.
  • Evaluates, documents, and provides on-going feedback to tellers to improve work performance. Provides feedback to the manager regarding disciplinary issues, including balancing, attendance, and/or overall work performance.
  • Responsible for the development of positive working relationships within the branch in order to provide quality service to the membership.
  • Attends Head Teller meetings as scheduled and relays information to the branch manager and fellow employees as needed.
  • May maintain a teller window to accommodate member traffic.
  • Performs all other job related duties as assigned.
