About The Position

Plaza del Sol Family Health Center is located in the heart of Corona, Queens. In preparation for an upcoming expansion of the site, we are seeking a full-time Health Center Manager to join the leadership within our second largest family medicine practice at the Urban Health Plan. The Manager of Plaza del Sol will assist with the operational management of the day-to-day functions of the facility in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern the organization. The individual will support the direct supervision and management of office and administrative positions and support the site's leadership with successful operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Health Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, or other related field of study required.
  • 5 years of experience working in the healthcare sector, with a minimum of 2 years' experience working as a manager with direct reports.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
  • Proven record and abilities focused on electronic health records.
  • Excellent communicator and motivator.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Admin/Site Director with the general day-to-day operations of Plaza del Sol Family Health Center.
  • Provide supervision for the front desk staff (PSR), patient advocates, cash collectors and intake specialists. This includes hiring, performance management, training, supervision, and disciplinary meetings.
  • Provide training to newly hired staff and ongoing feedback and training for existing staff.
  • Assist in scheduling department working hours, personnel, and work assignments as necessary or required.
  • Maintain and monitor daily & monthly schedules (providers & line staff).
  • Responsible for the cash collection process including daily reconciliation.
  • Record and follow-up on patient grievances and provide updates to the administrator/site director.
  • Perform weekly inspections of the facility to assure that established policies and procedures are being implemented and followed and reports findings to Identify and report daily operational issues including but not limited to staff and/or provider coverage and equipment malfunction.
  • Ensure that adequate supplies and equipment are on hand to meet the day-to-day operational needs of the organization.
  • Ensure that the facilities are maintained in a clean and safe manner for patients and staff.
  • Assist with the supervision and coordination of special projects.
