This position is full-time Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM CST It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. We offer 4 weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of training will be during normal business hours

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent experience
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 1+ years of Health Information Management (HIM) or Release of Information (ROI) experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work full time onsite at 2925 Chicago Ave Minneapolis, MN 55407
  • Ability to work full-time Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM CST It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

Nice To Haves

  • RHIT or RHIA certification
  • 2+ years of customer service experience
  • Experience working within the health care Industry and with health care insurance
  • Experience working in a hospital, physician's office or medical clinic setting
  • Experience working in a call center
  • Experience in communicating with patients & staff with various educational & socio-economic backgrounds
  • A clerical or administrative support background
  • Knowledge of medical terminology

Responsibilities

  • Reviews electronic chart documentation ensuring correct patient, location, and no duplicate information.
  • Manages requests for documentation and information.
  • Scans documents in electronic medical records.
  • Locates, logs, retrieves, files, and delivers medical records stored in various mediums and systems.
  • May train and mentor co-workers.
  • Analyzes documentation and tracks completion to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Promotes principles of health information accuracy, transparency, currency, accessibility, relevancy, and reliability.
  • Work with Microsoft Word, Excel (create, edit, save documents and spreadsheets) and Outlook (email and calendar management)
  • Other duties as assigned.
