About The Position

The Health Policy Fellow will advance Young Invincibles’ (YI) programs to improve young adults’
ability to access key health care services. The Health Policy Fellow will work with the National
Policy team helping to advance the YI Federal Policy Agenda. This position will learn how to
communicate with federal policymakers, engage in advocacy strategies, and further develop our
engagement with young people in the DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia area.

This is a part-time position of up to 19 hours per week for $20/hour ending in or before December 2026

• Experience delivering trainings and presentations
• Experience working with young adults, particularly college students
• Ability to build effective and strategic partnerships with stakeholders
• Excellent outreach and communications skills
• Ability to work effectively independently and with a team
• Professional and mature in all settings
• Experience and comfort working with diverse communities

Nice To Haves

• Experience with outreach and facilitation
• Experience with facilitating presentations, group discussions, and trainings
• Knowledge of, or experience as a student in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area
• Knowledgeable of federal health care policy issues

Responsibilities

• Track relevant legislation and policy issues
• Participate in meetings with elected officials and other key decision makers
• Draft and edit short memos, one-pagers, and briefing summaries
• Attend coalition and partner meetings to understand broader advocacy priorities and strategies
• Establish a greater presence at Northern Virginia campuses and perform student outreach
• Develop and deliver campus advocacy and consumer education training curriculum
• Establish partnerships with Northern Virginia campuses
• Organize community events including roundtables, meetings, trainings, and workshops
