Based at Lutheran Hospital, the Alcohol and Drug Recovery Center (ADRC) provides high quality evaluation and treatment for individuals with alcohol and drug dependency. Our interdisciplinary team of board-certified psychiatrists, licensed registered nurses, and certified counselors specializes in chemical dependency and delivers compassionate, evidence-based care. Guided by a 12-step philosophy and a deep understanding of addiction as a disease, ADRC offers a supportive environment that fosters innovative treatment approaches and serves approximately 7,000 patients each year. As a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC), you will offer unparalleled customer service to patients, families and visitors to enhance the Cleveland Clinic experience. Using your administrative and clerical skills, you will ensure efficient operational flow of the department, allowing your fellow caregivers to continue providing optimal patient care. A caregiver in this role works evenings from 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One year of experience in a customer service-related role
  • Experience with typing, computer training or equivalent coursework

Responsibilities

  • Conduct an in-person greeting, welcome and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients.
  • Respond to patient call lights and make rounds.
  • Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges.
  • Assist patients and families with wayfinding and directing them to available resources.
  • Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care.
  • Handle various computer tasks, such as updating schedules and managing patient information.
  • Assist with unit clerical functions and in trouble-shooting equipment failures, such as call system, portable phones, WOWs and other unit devices.
