One California Job Summary and Responsibilities The primary role and the majority of the shift for this position is to transport patients via wheel chair, gurney and/or bed between hospital departments. This is a physical job requiring the ability to push, pull and assist in the transporting and/or lifting of patients on a daily basis. This position will be responsible for effectively communicating with Clinical staff to evaluate, document and verbally report patient status and condition, as well as completing "S-Bar Ticket to Ride" documentation. Additional duties include, but are not limited to clerical functions requiring basic computer skills as needed. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the Organization. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support the Organization's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP). Demonstrates the ability to safely and competently perform tasks and procedures according to Medical Center policy and procedure. Including, but not limited to: Performs patient care tasks as directed by Radiologist, Supervisor, or Manager. Demonstrates the skills and knowledge to support the accurate data collection and documentation of pertinent information in a timely manner: Consent forms, doctor's orders, laboratory tests, patient's current drug formulary. Participates as a team member, communicating respect for patient, family, clients and other members of the Care Team. Contributes to the management of the department by assuming responsibility of specific support functions i.e., preparing exam room, assisting with patient exam, record keeping/clerical functions for PVL. Ensures that inpatient and outpatient exams are scheduled in a manner that enables the department to run smoothly and efficiently.
