About The Position

As a managing consultant within the Guidehouse Health segment, you will be responsible for delivering impactful project results and building trusted client relationships across federal, state, and commercial sector clients. You will support the delivery of projects that aim to improve health outcomes and reduce costs through high-quality, affordable, person-centered care. This role involves regular interaction with senior, executive-level clients to ensure the success of innovative new programs. The managing consultant should have intensive experience supporting federal clients, such as CMS, and industry experience that applies across commercial, state and federal sector clients. You will be expected to deliver program work, ranging from alternative payment model design through implementation, evaluation, and learning and diffusion, as well as presenting well-organized, effective reports and presentations to clients. You will guide task order response proposal efforts and be expected to contribute to the growth of our existing portfolio. We are looking for someone with a passion for creative problem-solving, client service, and project management.

Requirements

  • Masters (required) or Doctoral (preferred) degree in health policy, health economics, health services research, epidemiology, public health, or health/policy related fields
  • 7+ years of relevant industry, research, or consulting experience, excluding internships, co-ops, fellowships, and academic research (10+ years is strongly preferred)
  • Experience directly supporting public health-focused federal agencies or health systems
  • Experience working with CMS value-based care and alternative payment models
  • Existing strong relationships with CMS and other HHS leaders
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong business relationships with senior executive clients
  • Deep industry knowledge translatable to strategic, analytical, and operational direction to teams
  • Ability to work on interdisciplinary teams in a highly matrixed environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working and collaborating with other leaders to pursue organic/add-on and cross-business opportunities with current and prospective clients
  • Strong understanding of value-based care payment models
  • Direct experience with CMMI Alternative Payment Models
  • Healthcare quality measurement experience

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to highly complex, multi-year awards and task orders aimed at achieving high-quality, affordable, person-centered care
  • Use deep industry expertise to inform and support clients in value-based care policy, regulation, and delivery
  • Collaborate with and effectively influence senior, executive-level clients to set shared strategies and priorities, implement programs effectively, and manage high-performing teams to ensure client satisfaction and results
  • Support responses to request for proposals, project start-up, program and project management with a keen focus on risk management, compliance, and quality assurance to drive impactful results
