What does a Heavy Equipment Mechanic do? As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic at R&R Solutions, you will leverage your technical expertise to ensure our commercial vehicles and equipment operate at peak performance. Your responsibilities will include performing comprehensive maintenance and repairs that adhere to our exacting standards. Key duties involve conducting regular preventative maintenance such as oil changes and tire rotations, as well as executing both minor and major repairs on trucks, trailers, forklifts, and heavy machinery. Effective communication and collaboration with the repair team will be essential as you diagnose issues and plan necessary repairs. Maintaining a clean and safe shop environment is a priority, along with the safe movement of vehicles within the facility. Other duties may be assigned as needed to support our operations. Would you be a great Heavy Equipment Mechanic? To thrive as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic at R&R Solutions, candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED, along with a clean driving record and a valid driver's license. ASE Certifications are preferred, reflecting a commitment to industry standards and ongoing professional development. Essential tools are required for the trade, and candidates must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs regularly, with the ability to lift, push, and pull heavier loads with assistance. Effective teamwork and clear communication skills are crucial, as you will collaborate closely with colleagues to diagnose and resolve vehicle issues. The job demands agility and endurance, requiring frequent standing, walking, bending, and crawling in various positions. Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills are necessary for working with precision tools and small components. Moreover, adherence to safety protocols is critical, as you will be exposed to potential hazards such as grease and noise in a repair shop environment.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma/GED and valid driver's license (clean record).
  • Personal toolset required.
  • Ability to lift 50-75+ lbs; frequent standing, bending, climbing, and crawling.
  • Able to work in cramped/awkward positions with high manual dexterity.
  • Proficient in using vehicle repair tools and shop machinery.
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset.
  • Comfortable in shop settings with loud noise and temperature extremes.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
