About The Position

Weyerhaeuser's Western Timberlands Division has an opening for a full-time Aircraft Mechanic based out of the Eugene Oregon hangar. Duties will be performed at the hangar as well as in a forest environment. In addition to helicopter maintenance, this individual will have responsibilities related to helicopter projects during all seasons of the year. This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. Weyerhaeuser Company owns and operates multiple Bell Helicopters (212HP, 206L-4 and 206L-3), based in Eugene, Oregon and Chehalis, Washington. Since 1947, Weyerhaeuser Aviation has taken an active role in flight operations supporting the timberlands forestry operations in both states under FAR Part 91, 133 and 137. The primary focus is on stewardship of timberlands through fire suppression, fertilization, spraying and forestry recon. Our helicopter operation is supported by company personnel, including pilots, aircraft mechanics and equipment operators. Although most projects are within the local area, applicants must be willing to do occasional overnight travel while working on flight operations away from the main base. Some projects do require weekend work. Between projects, helicopters and equipment are maintained at the company hangars.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • Airframe and Powerplant license with a minimum of 2 years of Bell 212 series experience
  • Demonstrate personal commitment to safety, supporting team flying concept
  • Able to perform and adhere to industrial leading maintenance practices

Nice To Haves

  • At least 5 years of turbine experience
  • Knowledge of computer-based maintenance program (CMMS)
  • Excellent record keeping skills
  • CDL/Hazmat endorsement
  • Private pesticide applicator license (or ability to attain one)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Helicopters/support equipment in a hanger and a field environment
  • Support field operations, fueling and ground functions, as needed.
  • Serve as the primary mechanic for the organization's Bell 212 helicopter flight operations
  • Perform periodic inspections, maintenance and repairs not requiring factory service

  • Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $58,830-$88,245 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 5% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.
