About The Position

The DePaul College Prep Science Department seeks a collaborative, energetic, and positive educator for the role of a biology teacher. The ideal candidate is a qualified and experienced biology teacher with the following characteristics: Experience writing and designing biology curriculum using NGSS Standards; Knows state standards regarding the use and disposal of lab materials and proper lab safety protocols; Communicates and collaborates with peers effectively, as sharing of lab space and materials is required; Organizes and facilitates labs safely to ensure students understand and adhere to safety norms; Values and seeks to understand the cultural and social identities of each student in their class; Integrates culturally responsive practices into daily teaching; Strong knowledge of Google Classroom or other technology applications/systems is necessary for a one-to-one classroom environment.

Requirements

BS degree in Biology
Illinois PEL (teacher certification)
Strong knowledge of Google Classroom or other technology applications/systems is necessary for a one-to-one classroom environment
