About The Position

High School Resource Teacher Terms of Employment: 11-month Exemption Status: Exempt Salary Scale: EACC, U11 https://www.ccboe.com/careers/salary-scales EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE • Master’s Degree in appropriate field and Advanced Professional Certificate required. • Minimum five years of teaching experience at the secondary level required. • Experience in presenting to a variety of audiences. QUALIFICATIONS • Demonstrated knowledge and implementation of the Maryland College and Career Ready Standards. • Demonstrated evidence of on-going professional growth. • Knowledge and application of best instructional practices and the change process. • Knowledge of effective lesson design and multiple assessment techniques. • Evidence of effective organizational, communication and human relation skills. • Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction to meet student needs. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS • Regularly meets with administration to identify system and building instructional needs, to receive training and to develop implementation plans. • Attends and participates in High School Resource Teacher Meetings. • Models, plans, coaches and co-teaches with staff to implement curricula and best instructional and assessment practices. • Serves as an instructional liaison between the central office and the school. • Facilitates school-based professional development through presentations, study groups and other programs. • Works collaboratively with administration, content teams, classroom teachers, department chairs, content specialists and consultants to facilitate instructional growth. • Assists staff in implementing the content, skills and processes required by Maryland College and Career Ready Standards and curricula. • Provides instructional support, coaches and/or serves as mentor to teachers by co-planning, coteaching and identifying appropriate resources for all classrooms. • Supports staff in implementing best instructional and assessment practices to motivate and engage students in active learning. • Assists in facilitating instructional growth at the building level. • Assists in determining school-based needs for the implementation of curricula assessment and staff development. • Assists school-based staff in developing formative and summative assessment analyzing the test data to identify instructional needs and facilitating training for teacher scoring of assessments. • Presents to school and community groups. ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The environmental factors and/or physical requirements of this position include the following: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard. The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
