About the position

The position is temporary through the end of the 2024-25 school year, with a .75 FTE schedule from 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM. The role is supervised by the Building Administrator and classified as licensed. The job goal is to actively engage in or assist in the teaching of students, leading them toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, physical, emotional, and psychological growth and maturation.

Responsibilities

  • Regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
  • Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
  • Makes appropriate application of learning theory and employs a variety of instructional techniques and media.
  • Assesses the accomplishments of students regularly and uses identified needs to plan instruction.
  • Maintains records as required by law and district policy.
  • Takes precautions to provide for the health and safety of students and to protect equipment and facilities.
  • Establishes and maintains open lines of communication with staff, students, and parents.
  • Assists in determining and evaluating educational goals consistent with district philosophy.
  • Cooperates with staff in planning instructional goals and developing district curriculum.
  • Assists in the selection of books, equipment, and instructional materials.
  • Assists administration in implementing policies and rules governing student conduct.
  • Attends and participates in faculty meetings and co-curricular activities.
  • Strives for professional growth through ongoing programs.
  • Supervises students in and out of the classroom.
  • Familiarizes with building philosophy.
  • Assists in preparing budget and instructional material requests.
  • Attends all school assemblies unless excused by the principal.
  • Carries out assigned extracurricular programs and duties.
  • Knowledgeable on state and federal laws and district policies affecting curriculum and instruction.
  • Carries out any other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Valid Oregon teacher license acceptable to Teacher Standards and Practices Commission.
  • Business and Management and/or Arts, Information and Communication CTE Endorsement preferred.
  • Endorsement and/or experience in Business/Marketing desirable.
  • Possess emotional and physical stamina to perform duties.
  • Experience incorporating perspectives of multiple communities in decision-making.
