Lead a high-speed line that millions count on Picture your afternoon: you arrive for 2nd shift (Monday–Friday), review the plan, rally the crew, and set the tone for a safe, high-performing operation. You keep the line audit-ready, protect product quality, remove bottlenecks, and coach people to their next level—driving SQCDSP (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Sustainability, People) results every step of the way. A day in the role Safety leadership: Conduct pre-shift start-ups and a targeted hazard walk. Verify LOTO and machine guarding, chase down near-miss actions promptly, and uphold GMPs, HACCP/Preventive Controls, and FSMA so audits are a non-event. Quality stewardship: Oversee CCP checks, metal/X-ray verification, date/code accuracy, net weight control, and allergen management. When something drifts, you contain, find the root cause, correct, and lock improvements into standard work. Throughput and reliability: Run tier huddles, work from the hour-by-hour board, and close plan vs. actual gaps. Improve OEE, yield, and changeover time using Lean/TPM tools like 5S, SMED, Centerlining, and AM/PM. People first: Coach a skilled frontline team (union or non-union). Set crystal-clear expectations, recognize wins, address tough moments with fairness and speed, and keep the skills matrix strong for seamless coverage. Maintenance partnership: Advance Autonomous Maintenance and Planned Maintenance with the maintenance team. Tag defects, prioritize work orders, and verify fixes to prevent today’s small issue from becoming tomorrow’s downtime. Continuous improvement: Facilitate mini-Kaizens; apply 5-Why, fishbone, and basic SPC to eliminate chronic losses. Update SOPs and One-Point Lessons so gains stick. How we’ll measure success Safety: Zero recordables, rapid near-miss closure, strong audit results Quality: High right-first-time %, minimal holds and complaints Delivery: OEE trending up, faster changeovers, schedule adherence on target Cost: Higher yield, lower scrap and OT, reliable AM/PM compliance People: Completed training, robust cross-coverage, rising engagement What you bring Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering, Food Science, or Business 1–3 years in high-speed manufacturing (food/beverage/CPG preferred) or proven frontline leadership experience Working knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, sanitation fundamentals; familiarity with Lean/TPM (5S, AM/PM, SMED) Comfortable in Microsoft 365; SAP exposure is a plus Clear communication, steady under pressure, and a strong root-cause mindset Bonus points Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt Experience leading in a union environment Bilingual English/Spanish Work environment and schedule 2nd Shift, Monday–Friday, with flexibility for cross-shift coverage and key project pushes Hands-on, fast-paced, and team-centered; frequent floor time and real-time coaching On your feet, climbing stairs, using PPE, and lifting up to 40 lbs. in a dynamic plant setting Grow your career Deliver strong results and you’ll be on a 12–24 month path toward roles like Senior Production Supervisor, Line/Process Leader, or Continuous Improvement Specialist.
