Highway Engineering Intern

Position summary: An intern supports the assigned design department by assisting with a variety of tasks, including special project assignments and active participation in project design and documentation, to gain practical experience and support their educational development.
Responsibilities
- Assist senior or lead Engineer or Project Manager with basic design tasks, including research, simple studies, and layout support.
- Help prepare drawings and documents for programming, schematic design, modeling, graphics, design development, and construction phases.
- Support the creation of presentation and marketing materials.
- Assist with construction phase activities, including participating in site visits, supporting RFI responses, reviewing shop drawings, and helping update record drawings.
- Follow established quality control procedures and ask questions as needed.
- Learn and apply department and company standards and best practices.
- Develop basic design, analysis, and technical skills through hands-on experience. ‑on experience
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with team members.
- Receive guidance and direction from supervisors and team leaders.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, interior designers, and other multidisciplinary team members.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
