About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: The Data Integrity Specialist is responsible for reviewing, analyzing and maintain data integrity in the MPI and Epic electronic health record. This includes correction of duplicate medical record numbers, overlay review, and chart correction case review. Chart research and collaboration with departments inputting information will be performed to assure we are keeping our chart integrity upheld. The electronic health information must be accurate as serve as our Master Patient Index. The Data Integrity Specialist will work closely with the HIM Managers to ensure proper chart corrections are occurring and develop and maintain policies and procedures around chart corrections such as contact moves, patient merges, note corrections, etc. The Data Integrity Specialist will serve on the Identification Theft Multidisciplinary Team. This position will ensure we are maintaining patient privacy and safety by assuring we have proper documentation and charting for every patient.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Health Information Management
  • Completion of an HIM Bachelor's or Associates’ degree program with hands on experience (such as an internship, or professional practice).
  • RHIA or RHIT. Must obtain within 12 months of hire into position.
  • Strong mentoring and relationship building skills with ability to effectively manage group and interpersonal conflict situations

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree Health Information Management
  • Experience in chart correction or Identity experience in Epic.
  • 3 year of HIM/EPIC experience
