Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing
  • No specific experience required
  • Eligibility for licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse as issued by the North Carolina Board of Nursing
  • Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with HIV patients
  • Spanish languages skills preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of the HIV Intervention Programs Proficient computer skills
  • Ability to work within a multi-disciplined team
  • Ability to multi-task face paced environment
  • Ability to feel comfortable working within a very diverse atmosphere

Responsibilities

  • Assist clinical staff and Medical Providers with completing client visits to include: obtaining detailed health history information (i.e. sexual health, substance use, mental health, and vital signs)
  • Exam chaperoning
  • Administering immunizations and medications (IM, SUBQ, PO, Inhalation)
  • Documenting within the EMR and NCIR
  • Communicate and collaborate across disciplines within and outside the agency to coordinate care and services for clients i.e. specialty referrals, care coordination
  • Provide in person and telephone triage for clients and other callers to address concerns promptly utilizing sound nursing judgement
  • Review and complete faxes and Prior Authorizations (PAs)
  • Manage injectable Antiretroviral (ART) program
  • Maintain clinic supplies
  • Actively participate with clinic CQI initiatives
  • Attend in-services, workshops, and trainings within and outside the organization to maintain licensure and certifications
  • Train and be readily available to assist Wake County in the event of an emergency
