About The Position

The Administrator ensures quality and safe delivery of home health care services; coordinates services that reflect the Agency's philosophy and standards of care; plans, develops, implements and evaluates Agency services, programs and activities and responsible for all day-to- day operations of the Agency. Maintains compliance with federal and state laws and regulations as well as Community Health Accreditation Program and/or The Joint Commission standards. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills.

Requirements

  • Licensed physician, physician assistant, or registered nurse licensed to practice in the state of Florida or an individual having at least 1 year of supervisory or administrative experience in home health care or in a licensed facility.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License
  • Valid/current CPR certification
  • Registered Nurse State of Florida with a minimum of two years of experience in home health preferred
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Responsibilities

  • Appointed by the governing body and/or Chief Executive Officer.
  • Comply with the organizations code of ethics and compliance program.
  • Detect non-compliance and follow up as appropriate.
  • Available during designated business hours. Readily available on the premises or by telecommunications.
  • Remain informed of home health regulations and standards as well as management issues.
  • Develop and manage the budget for the home health agency, optimizing resource allocation while maintaining quality care.
  • In collaboration with the Compliance Officer, establish and participate in Quality Assurance Activities, data-based outcomes and QAPI.
  • Manages the daily operations of the home health agency.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators to track the effectiveness of nursing and other clinical services and identify areas for improvement.
  • Serves as or appoints the alternate Director of Nursing in the absence of the Director of Nursing.
  • Directs clinical staff in performance the of their duties including admissions, discharges, and provision of services to patients.
  • Responsible for counseling staff members in a constructive manner whenever work and conduct does not meet the performance quality standards of the agency.
  • Assures appropriate staff supervision during all operating hours and appoints alternate if needed.
  • In coordination with human resources, hire and fire employees of the agency.
  • Assure service satisfaction through client visits and other measures, as appropriate. Investigate and resolve agency complaints related to nursing or other department if required.
  • Participate in state, local and national organizations, meetings, seminars, workshops and activities relating to the home health profession and health care services as requested by supervisor.
  • All other duties as assigned.
