About The Position

Position Summary: Delivers Home Oxygen and Respiratory Care equipment. Provides timely delivery of HME and Oxygen cylinders. Troubleshoots and performs equipment repair and checks to assure equipment is clean and functioning before delivery. Observes and communicates pertinent patient information to the Home Oxygen Therapist or immediate supervisor. Maintains HME vehicle in a clean and orderly condition. Checks and maintains Home Oxygen inventory. Completes all required paperwork fully and in a timely manner. Demonstrates commitment to customer service by building effective working relationships and treating others with respect, interacting with customers (Patients, co-workers and visitors) in a warm and friendly way, taking immediate action to meet customer needs or requests, listening to understand what customers have to say. Works with patient’s physician to assure appropriateness of oxygen equipment. Performs in-home assessment of environment for safety issues as required by Joint Commission (i.e., electrical requirements, fire safety, trip and fall hazards). Maintains infection control procedures. Educates patients on oxygen usage, equipment operation, and potential hazards. Minimum Qualifications: Required High School Diploma or equivalent. Current Drivers License. Commercial Drivers License required within 12 months of hire. Current Heartsaver through American Heart Association within 30 days of hire. The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts. On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs. Infectious diseases due to contact with patients in areas that may have contagious illnesses.
