The work of this class involves no supervisory duties or responsibilities. Incumbents receive moderate supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class work a conventional workweek that may include night and weekend work. Work is performed in, gardens, greenhouses and city landscapes where such conditions as the seasonal extremes of weather, pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers, and insects may be encountered. Work requires moderate physical exertion in the lifting and moving of large plants, mulch, soil and fertilizers, installation of gardens and the arranging of displays.
