About The Position

Big Bend Hospice (BBH) is your “Hometown Hospice” providing compassionate end-of-life care for over 40 years to the Big Bend region. Guided by our values of integrity, respect, and excellence, we are seeking an experienced Hospice Aide to join our Leon County Team, providing dedicated support to patients in homes throughout Leon County, Florida. The ideal candidate for the Hospice Aide position is a compassionate and dependable professional who embraces the hospice philosophy and is committed to delivering high-quality end-of-life care within private home settings. This individual will provide personalized care to hospice patients residing in Leon County homes communities/ residents, ensuring comfort, dignity, and respect at all times while working under the direct supervision of a Hospice Registered Nurse. The ideal candidate will faithfully follow the established plan of care, maintain accurate and timely documentation, and promptly report any changes in patient condition to the RN. They will also offer emotional support to patients and families during this important stage of life and collaborate effectively with facility staff to ensure coordinated, seamless care, always upholding the mission and standards of Big Bend Hospice. Position Duties and Responsibilities: The Care and Comfort Team Hospice Aide (CNA) responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

Requirements

Must have an active Certified Nursing Aide certificate.
BLS Required
Must maintain active Florida Driver's License
High school diploma
Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
CNA License

Compassionate with sound judgment
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to handle stress and long shifts
Ability to work in private homes and navigate tight spaces as needed
Ability to work in Assisted Living and Skill Nursing Facilities

Nice To Haves

Hospice, Home Health experience preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and medical software systems

Responsibilities

Demonstrate knowledge of the hospice philosophy.
The Hospice Aide is responsible for attending to the personal care needs of the terminally ill patients under Big Bend Hospice care.
The Hospice Aide works under the direct supervision of the Hospice Registered Nurse.
The Hospice Aide follows the direction of the care plan.
Document timely and appropriately.
Participate in end-of-life care for the patient and family.
Inform RN of any changes in the condition.
Complete other duties as assigned.
