About The Position

Requirements

Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
Current and unrestricted MD or DO license to practice medicine in Illinois, with valid DEA and Controlled Substance registration.
Clinical experience in hospital medicine preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform and document patient evaluations within the hospital setting, ensuring effective coordination with nursing staff, ancillary providers, attending physicians, administration, and other medical and patient care personnel.
Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and their families regarding care plans and treatment progress.
Work schedule: Monday–Friday, with coverage every third weekend.
No procedural duties are required.
No Code or Rapid Response Team (RRT) responsibilities.
No ICU coverage required.
Occasional overnight call as assigned.
Manage admissions for 2–4 patients per shift.
Average daily rounding on 15–20 patients.
Paid time off: 15 days, plus 5 days for CME (Continuing Medical Education).
