About The Position

The Host/Hostess is the first point of contact for guests, responsible for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere upon arrival. This role manages reservations, seating, and guest flow to ensure a smooth dining experience while upholding Kaluz’s brand of refined hospitality. The Host/Hostess plays a vital role in setting the tone for the guest experience and supporting the FOH team.

Requirements

Previous host/hostess or customer service experience preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Professional appearance and demeanor in line with Kaluz’s standards.
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to move quickly and safely through the dining room and lobby.
Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds.

Responsibilities

Greet guests promptly, professionally, and with genuine warmth.
Manage reservations, walk-ins, and waitlists using the designated system.
Escort guests to their tables while ensuring proper rotation for servers.
Provide accurate wait-time estimates and communicate effectively with guests.
Respond to guest inquiries about the restaurant, menu, and services.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand, lobby, and entrance area.
Manage menus and promotional materials at the front desk.
Monitor guest flow and communicate seating needs with servers and managers.
Support service flow by assisting with table resets when needed.
Uphold Kaluz’s image of sophistication, professionalism, and hospitality.
Maintain knowledge of the menu, including features and promotions.
Assist the FOH Manager and servers in ensuring seamless guest service.
Foster a positive and team-oriented environment by supporting staff as needed.
