About The Position

Host Person The Food & Beverage department is responsible for providing exceptional dining experiences and food and beverage services through our restaurants, Tiki bar, and in-room dining outlets. Job Summary: The Host Person is responsible for providing a positive first impression of high quality service to guests in an efficient and courteous manner. This is a seasonal position starting mid May and ending mid September. Essential Job Functions: Welcomes and acknowledges all customers with a warm and friendly greeting. Escorts guests to assigned dining area. Controls the flow of the room by seating guests in rotating stations. Handles the reservation book and incoming telephone calls. Assists in setting up for service before the shift starts. Cleans, stocks, and maintains the workstation throughout the shift. Introduces the server and presents a menu. Communicates with the kitchen regarding guest counts and length of wait for tables. Ensures all guest contact is professional, friendly, and courteous, maintaining a commitment to guest satisfaction. Assists in bundling silverware roll ups throughout the shift. Anticipates and addresses guests’ service needs. Thanks guests with genuine appreciation. Maintains knowledge of all hotel services and local activities to respond to inquiries accurately. Performs related duties as requested by a manager at any time.

Requirements

  • Previous hosting experience a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must possess a professional appearance at all times.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and staff verbally and in written form.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
  • Requires the ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
