YOU WILL BE: The Restaurant Host serves Neiman Marcus customers in a warm, accommodating, and professional manner by greeting and seating customers.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Knowledge of OpenTable platform
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously
- Motivated and results-driven
- Ability to interact graciously with the public and handle multiple duties at the same time
- Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills
- "Win together" mentality
- Role requires standing, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting and carrying 35 pounds
- Associates must be willing to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, which will include evenings, weekends, and holidays
Responsibilities
- Maintains presence at host stand / door to professionally and graciously greet and seat customers
- Monitors server performance to ensure smooth service during the customers’ dining experience
- Observes proper telephone etiquette
- Handles reservations through OpenTable platform (including VIPs) and any additional inquiries regarding hours of operation, specials, events, etc.
- Organizes reservations, maximizes seating during operating hours, and optimizes staffing and customer traffic
- Adheres to established accounting procedures for all transactions, including all authorized methods of payment and maintains knowledge of the POS system
- Keeps flow of service to standards (e.g., proper seating of customers to each wait station)
- Participates in daily pre-shift meetings
- Fulfills duties that may involve lifting objects (e.g., tables, chairs, highchairs, etc.)
- Maintains cleanliness and presentability of all menus and menu covers
- Maintains the highest level of hygiene standards to include, but not limited to: Clean, pressed uniform jacket and accompanying clothing and shoes Clean and professionally styled hair and nails, maintained to avoid food contamination risks
- Adheres to posted work schedule and follows established procedures for schedule and shift changes
