Our House Leader plays a crucial role in nurturing our supportive environment by building relationships of respect and mutuality between core members and assistants. Requirements

  • A genuine commitment to the mission and values of L’Arche Cleveland and a passion for supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships of trust and mutual respect among community members.
  • Experience in leadership, management, or similar roles, preferably in a caregiving or community-based setting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and adapt to varying situations and needs.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in managing household and administrative tasks.
  • Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, including training opportunities.
  • Flexibility in work hours, including availability for evenings and weekends, as required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations and management of the house including scheduling and support for staff and core members.
  • Cultivate a warm and inclusive environment that promotes the well-being and development of core members.
  • Facilitate and encourage meaningful interactions and relationships between core members and assistants.
  • Develop and implement programs and activities that enrich the lives of core members based on their individual needs and interests.
  • Ensure the safety and health of all individuals in the house by enforcing policies and procedures responsibly.
  • Act as a liaison between core members, assistants, family members, and the broader L’Arche community to maintain open communication.
  • Participate in community events and meetings to foster relationships and engage with volunteers, supporters, and board members.
