About The Position

Having a clean space matters. Especially in healthcare. As a Housekeeper (or Custodian) in our medical center , you help create a safe, welcoming environment where residents can heal and feel at home. Your work supports dignity, comfort, and recovery every single day.

Note - this position is primarily assigned to Laundry: Laundry of bed and other linens as well as resident clothing

Requirements

• At least 1 year similar experience in a medical / healthcare facility or commercial cleaning setting (strongly preferred)
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• hold a High school diploma or GED
• Basic computer skills
• Understanding of Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) safety and sanitation rules
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Ability to regularly push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds, and pass a pre-employment physical and background check
• This position will require extended periods of walking and standing to perform duties

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain resident rooms and common areas
• Empty trash, clean bathrooms, wash windows and laundry, and care for floors
• Vacuum, sanitize, and prepare rooms for new residents
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment throughout the building
• Laundry of bed and other linens as well as resident clothing
