Job DescriptionThe Housekeeper/Recreation Services Attendant us a “casual” position, whose hours will vary, depending on the business needs. This position performs general housekeeping and light janitorial duties at various facility locations, at Baker River. Duties may include kitchen support, or catering, as needed, with an emphasis on customer service and safety; and interfacing with PSEW staff, crews, and the public. Shifts can vary, from 2 hours up to eight hours, depending on the business need.

This position is not benefits eligible and has limitations on the number of hours worked per year. This will be further discussed during the interview process, but cannot exceed 30 working days within a 60-day period, or a total of 1,000 hours per year.

This job is considered “safety sensitive” as defined in RCW 49.44.240 and is subject to pre-employment drug screening that includes screening for the presence of marijuana and marijuana metabolites.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• 1 year prior customer service or related experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Upon hire, will be required to obtain a Department of Health card.

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous housekeeping and/or janitorial experience.
• Previous food preparation and/or catering experience.
• Previous customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs housekeeping and light janitorial duties: cleans and maintains lodge and office facilities, including kitchen facilities, crew quarters, shop and superintendent houses as directed. Performs inventory, orders and replenishes cleaning supplies as needed.
• Performs kitchen and catering duties: sets menus, prepares meals and provides catering services for private and company events. Performs inventory, orders and replenishes kitchen and/or food supplies as needed.
• May be asked to act in a chef capacity during catering events/functions and in this role, may need to direct staff activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
