About The Position

For 114 years, M.S. Rau has been a global leader in fine art, exquisite antiques, and rare jewelry. We are currently seeking a Housekeeper to perform custodial work in the gallery, offices, warehouse, industrial areas and other building interiors in accordance with company standards for quality, cleanliness, client satisfaction, and safety and security. This is a rare opportunity to work for an incredible company that has acquired and sold some of the world’s most important and extraordinary antiques, works of art and jewelry. This is a full-time position with a competitive starting wage. Hours of operation for the Facilities Department are Monday through Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch break. Work shifts will be scheduled during this timeframe. The typical work schedule is approximately 40 hours per week, however overtime is expected as needed. Rotating Saturdays are required, along with occasional evening, holiday, and overtime work to support operational needs. Here is an example of some of the tasks that you may be performing: Perform sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and dusting around the gallery, office areas and warehouse, on occasion Clean and maintain public and private restrooms Organize and stock supplies in office areas, kitchens, bathrooms, and stockroom Occasional evening work to assist with special client events

Requirements

  • High school graduate, or equivalent
  • Some housekeeping experience
  • This is a physically demanding position. Work environment involves slight physical risk that requires following basic safety precautions. The position may require the use of equipment with relatively simple operating procedures. Advanced application of manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination is also required.
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to raise/lower and push/pull objects from one level or another up to 50lbs
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop and climb
  • Ability to be mobile as needed to perform various functions
  • Vision and hearing are required along with the ability to speak and communicate
  • Working conditions requires exposure to dust, dirt fumes, etc.
  • Occasional exposure to hazards and weather (hot, cold, rain, etc.)
  • Ability to walk on uneven or rough natural terrain
  • Ability to communicate in the English language

Responsibilities
