About The Position

Education' Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent Experience Requirements 3 years’ experience in a housekeeping position in a health care facility. Familiar with care of various types of floor surfaces, cleaning materials, etc. and with cleaning and general housekeeping methods and equipment. Essential Functions Supervise the day-to-day functions of assigned personnel. Assist insetting standards. Assist in standardizing the methods in which work is accomplished. Assist in the development of procedures for performing daily tasks. Coordinate daily services with nursing when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living, dining, and/or recreational areas. Assist in scheduling work assignments, preparing daily cleaning schedules, etc. Revise as necessary. Assure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical. Perform administrative requirements (i.e., completing necessary forms. reports, supply orders, etc.) and submitLingto the director as necessary. Assist in the preparation of the annual department budget. Prepare bi-weekly payroll report for accounting. Makes daily rounds of Nursing Home insuring Home is maintained properly. Prepares work orders and reports quarterly to Quality Assurance Committee. Performs monthly inspection of eye wash stations insuring they are clean and in proper working condition. Sets schedules and work hours for all staff on Excel and reviews employee's performance evaluations. Selects and refers to Director of Support Services for approval supplies and equipment for department use. Evaluates with Purchasing and Director of Support Services, outside contracts such as Waste Removal and Pest Control, insuring compliance with State and Federal Guidelines. Assists in evaluating personnel requirements to include interviewing and recommending the hiring of new employees as well as the disciplining and termination of existing personnel. Coordinates and schedules the training for all new employees. Available on a call in basis when needed to provide coverage during weekend, evening or night shifts seven days of the week. Responsible for the operation of the laundry and housekeeping departrhents in the absence of the Director of Support Services. Plans and conducts department meetings. Serves on Ferncliff Nursing Homes committees as required by Administration. Assists other departments in preparing set ups for both Resident and non Resident events. Coordinates annual mandatory training for staff with the Staff Development DePartment. Attends staff development programs, especially mandatory education programs. Observes guidelines of the HAZCOM program In the spirit of cooperation in response to Resident needs, it may be necessary to perform other related duties as requested and unrelated duties in case of emergency.
