NeighborImpact's Housing program offers crucial assistance to individuals and families in need within Crook, Deschutes, and Jefferson counties, as well as the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs. The program can provide eviction prevention and deposit assistance, prioritizing applications based on need rather than a first-come, first-served basis. We value the respect and dignity of all. The Housing Advocate role involves providing personalized case management and support to clients, ensuring their self-sufficiency and stable housing. Key responsibilities include compassionately and professionally conducting screenings and assessments to determine program eligibility, connecting clients with community resources, and advocating for housing opportunities. Additionally, the Housing Advocate maintains precise client documentation and collaborates closely with the Client Services Manager to facilitate client success.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Human Services or related field required
- In lieu of education, 3 years direct experience in case management or related services required
- Ability to travel throughout the tri-county area regularly, even in inclement weather, using personal vehicle required
- Valid driver’s license required prior to date of hire and throughout employment
- Proof of current auto insurance required prior to date of hire and throughout employment
- Access to reliable transportation required prior to date of hire and throughout employment
- Satisfactory criminal background check required prior to date of hire and throughout employment
- Complete the Bloodborne Pathogens and Naloxone Training within 90 days of hire
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification within 90 days of hire
Nice To Haves
- Two years’ experience (i.e. employment, internships, and long-term volunteer position) in the field preferred
- English/Spanish bilingual preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field preferred
