About The Position

This position is responsible for: Perform a wide variety of functions to ensure the safety, security and wellbeing of the shelter residents as well as the building.

Requirements

  • Work requires the ability to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
  • Ability to lift light objects weighing less than 24 pounds.
  • One year vocational/technical school degree and six months experience; OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Update resident's admittance cards and tracking sheets.
  • Input data as necessary into the computer system.
  • Monitor client's day-to-day activities including scheduling and inventorying passes, taking of prescribed medication, and resident's general whereabouts.
  • Maintain shelter logbook through documentation, as directed by the Shelter Director.
  • Collects male and female urinalysis.
  • Documents urinalysis and Breathalyzers test results.
  • Mediate conflicts between residents.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, filing, and labeling.
  • Perform other duties as determined by the Shelter Director to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the shelter and in accordance with the Salvation Army's mission.
