To support current and prospective pre-health students at UT Austin and to assist with administrative and marketing initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.7 required & GPA must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Must be a rising junior or senior at the University of Texas at Austin
  • Must be registered for at least 12 credit hours.
  • Must be pursuing a pre-health pathway.
  • Must have completed Organic Chemistry I
  • Must be available to start training in July 2026 (and work Fall 2026 through the end of Spring 2027)

Responsibilities

  • Student Support: Maintain confidentiality about all students’ academic and personal information in accordance with university and federal policies and regulations.
  • Meet with pre-health students to guide pre-health pathways, prerequisites, and in navigating the health professions office website.
  • Refer students to appropriate campus resources and offices as needed.
  • Presentations & Outreach: Develop and present on pre-health topics in collaboration with the Health Professions Coaches.
  • Conduct virtual visits with prospective high school students.
  • Represent the Health Professions Office by tabling or participating in student panels at campus events.
  • Administrative & Marketing: Support office operations, including managing Zoom rooms.
  • Create promotional materials using Canva Pro for HPO Marketing.
  • Assist with special projects such as updating boards, the HPO website, and other materials.
  • Events: Staff at the annual Health Professions Fair and other HPO events as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
