About The Position

The Human Resources Coordinator serves as a key operational partner within the Human Resources department at Osceola Medical Center, a Critical Access Hospital. This role provides advanced coordination and support across core HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, compliance, employee relations, and HRIS administration. The position requires a high level of discretion, independent judgment, and knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements in a small, community-based hospital setting. Schedule: Day shift, 20 hours/week

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent progressive HR experience
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of human resources experience, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting
  • Working knowledge of federal and Wisconsin employment laws and healthcare regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a small, fast-paced organization
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and judgment in handling sensitive employee information
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, and HRIS platforms.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a Critical Access Hospital or rural healthcare setting
  • Familiarity with CMS Conditions of Participation, Joint Commission standards, and hospital credentialing processes

Responsibilities

  • Schedule interviews and communicate with candidates
  • Support full-cycle recruitment for clinical and non-clinical positions.
  • Assists in coordinating and preparing for new hire orientation and onboarding.
  • Manage onboarding processes to ensure compliance with CMS, DNV, Joint Commission (if applicable), state, and organizational requirements, including credentialing, licensure verification, background checks, and health screenings.
  • Maintains and files accurate, confidential personnel records in compliance with federal and state employment laws and healthcare regulations.
  • Partners with HR Team to be a subject-matter resource for managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment practices.
  • Supports HR Team in employee relations activities, including documentation, tracking, and coordination of corrective action processes.
  • Administer and maintain HRIS and applicant tracking systems, including data entry, audits, and report generation (as needed).
  • Support HR Team in benefits administration, open enrollment support, and employee inquiries related to benefits and leave programs.
  • Track and monitor compliance-related requirements such as mandatory education, annual competencies, policy acknowledgements, and licensure renewals.
  • Support performance management processes, including evaluations, tracking, and documentation.
  • Assist with HR-related audits, surveys, and regulatory reviews specific to a Critical Access Hospital environment.
  • Collaborate closely with leadership in a lean HR structure, providing support across multiple HR disciplines.
  • Assist with tracking leave of absences (FMLA, personal, etc. ).
  • Participate in HR projects, policy updates, and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee HR inquiries
  • Other HR/administrative duties as assigned.
