About The Position

The Human Resources Department is looking for a motivated and energetic candidate to join our team. In this opportunity, the Training and Benefits Assistant plans, develops, coordinates, and conducts all agency-sponsored training.

Requirements

  • Strong writing skills; interpersonal skills; ability to communicate thoroughly and accurately; comfortable giving oral presentations to large groups
  • Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the goals, objectives, policies and procedures of the agency
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory Self-starter able to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Ability to multi-task and be proactive in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities, deadlines, and workloads
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Background check as defined by licensing agencies.
  • Current TB test/clearance
  • Sitting in a normal seated position for extended periods of time
  • Standing and moving about for extended periods of time
  • Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction
  • Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s) or arm(s), for example, using a keyboard
  • Communication skills using the spoken word
  • Ability to see within normal parameters
  • Ability to hear within normal range

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Human Services, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Three years experience in the human services field is strongly preferred
  • Trainer Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assists with developing and implementing the agency’s organization-wide training program
  • Maintain records and prepare reports to evaluate the training progress
  • Formulate training outlines and determine appropriate instructional procedures or methods such as individual training, group instruction, self-study, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, workshops, and computer-based training as appropriate
  • Organize and develop training manuals, testing and evaluation procedures, and other educational materials
  • Conduct training sessions covering specified areas such as new employee orientation, customer service, health and safety practices
  • Revise the design of the training curriculum and methods to improve the effectiveness of the training program
  • Enroll participants in external training (i.e., seminars, conferences, etc.)
  • Plans, implements and administrates benefits programs.
  • Consults with and advises employees and management on eligibility, provisions, and other matters related to benefits
  • Resolves employee questions and problems by interpreting benefit policies and procedures
