About The Position

We are growing and in need of an Human Resource Specialist for The Reed Family Companies locations. We are seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented HR Specialist to support and enhance our day‑to-day Human Resources operations. In this role, you will assist with a broad range of HR functions; including maintaining employee records, coordinating recruitment activities, and contributing to key HR programs and initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring foundational HR knowledge, strong administrative skills, and the ability to manage tasks with accuracy and independence. As an HR Specialist, you will play an integral role in ensuring smooth, compliant, and efficient HR processes across the organization. Success in this position requires comfort working with HR systems, sound judgment, and the ability to support end‑to-end HR workflows.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in an HR Coordinator, HR Assistant, or similar human resources role, with exposure to multiple HR functional areas.
  • Foundational knowledge of HR processes, employment laws, and HR best practices, with interest in developing deeper generalist expertise.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (spreadsheets, reporting) and PowerPoint (training decks, presentations).
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms and comfort navigating employee data systems; experience with ATS tools for recruitment coordination.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, handle sensitive information, and exercise sound judgment.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑moving environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, contributing to HR projects and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new HR tools, processes, and systems.
  • 1-2 years Human Resource activities experience
  • College degree preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with sourcing methods, such as resume databases and professional networks, is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests.
  • Maintain accurate and organized employee records in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Support and coordinate the full onboarding experience for new hires, including documentation, system setup, and orientation activities, ensuring a smooth and engaging transition into the organization.
  • Assist with the administration of performance management processes, including tracking deadlines, preparing materials, and supporting managers and employees with system navigation.
  • Schedule and coordinate HR meetings, interviews, trainings, and events; prepare agendas and ensure materials are ready and distributed.
  • Facilitate and administer employee training sessions and workshops, including managing logistics, tracking attendance, and supporting content delivery.
  • Manage the coordination and day‑to-day operation of the organization’s leadership development training program, including session scheduling, participant communication, materials preparation, and monitoring of program progress.
  • Update and maintain employee data across HRMS and other HR systems, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Prepare, analyze, and submit routine reports on HR activity, metrics, and compliance needs.
  • Provide support for various HR programs and initiatives, including employee engagement, compliance, recognition, and policy updates.
  • Stay informed on emerging HR trends, best practices, and relevant legislation to support continuous improvement in HR processes.
