About The Position

The Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana (RHI), named Best Rehabilitation Hospital in Indiana in 2024 and 2025, provides quality rehabilitation services to those facing life-changing injuries or illness. We specialize in the areas of brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury and complex medical conditions. RHI is the only Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Model System in the state of Indiana and one of only 16 in the U.S. Our campus on the west side of Indianapolis specializes in inpatient and outpatient evidence-based, patient-centered therapy for ages 15 and older. We are excited to announce an opening for the HR Administrative Assistant position at The Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana. The Human Resources Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing support to human resources. Duties include: assisting in onboarding of new staff, conducting general employee orientations, assist in maintaining all personnel records and files, assist employees with employee benefits and retirement program enrollment, responding to insurance and unemployment compensation correspondence, employment verifications and assist in organizing all employee engagement activities, and providing administrative support. SUMMARY: Phone etiquette and answering all incoming Human Resources calls. Responding to employee's queries in a timely and professional manner. Data entry and managements of employee incidents and workman's compensation claims. Establishes terminated employee file upon termination consistent with department procedures. Prepares reports for Human Resources department as requested. Audit personnel files, ensuring all information is current and accurate. Maintain records in PeopleSoft. Enters information into appropriate computer systems; sends appropriate documentation to Payroll, employee and contractor files maintained in Human Resources. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A minimum of two (2) years' clerical, administrative assistant experience in hospital business office and/or human resources, preferably in a health care setting; or any combination of education, training or experience in a hospital business office
  • Good understanding of basic human resources hiring practices
