POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Human Resources (HR) Business Partner II provides strategic and operational HR support under the direction of the HR Leader. This role serves as a key resource to site leadership and employees, helping to drive engagement, performance, and organizational effectiveness. On-site in Newark, New York, 5 Days a week.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field, or equivalent experience. Human Resources certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-SCP, CHRP) is desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4–6 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in advisory roles.
  • US Citizen or lawful permanent resident or a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act is required.
  • HR systems proficiency: Skilled in using HR information systems to support daily operations and maintain data accuracy.
  • Workforce data reporting: Capable of generating and interpreting workforce reports to support decision-making.
  • Digital collaboration tools: Proficient in using platforms such as MS Teams, SharePoint, or similar tools for efficient teamwork.
  • Employment law knowledge: Applies a working understanding of employment laws and ensures compliance in routine HR activities.
  • Performance management understanding: Supports the execution of performance processes and provides guidance on related policies.
  • Able to work with and influence others.
  • Ability to work with limited direction and successfully navigate ambiguous situations.
  • Core HR disciplines: Demonstrates applied knowledge across core HR disciplines such as recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic partner to supervisors and managers in the execution of people's strategies and employee development plans (IDPs).
  • Support and collaborate with the HR Leader on workforce planning, culture, and organizational change efforts.
  • Guide leaders on employee relations, performance issues, and HR policy interpretation with minimal supervision.
  • Analyze HR data and trends to make recommendations that support employee engagement, retention, and performance.
  • Assist in or lead HR initiatives such as talent reviews, employee engagement action plans, and other related programs.
  • Work with cross-functional or multi-site teams to build and collaborate on HR initiatives.
  • Respond to and resolve employee inquiries and concerns, escalating more complex issues to the HR Leader as needed.
  • Partner with Centers of Excellence (COEs) to implement and localize HR programs and services.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
