About The Position

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building strong relationships, guiding leaders through employee relations matters, and ensuring compliance while fostering engagement and growth across the company. This position is open due to the growth of the organization! Position Summary Reporting directly to the Director or Human Resources, the HRBP will play a critical role in supporting the employee lifecycle, with a strong emphasis on employee relations, onboarding, terminations, and payroll support. This role requires a proactive and collaborative approach to solving problems, managing sensitive issues, and aligning HR practices with business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of HR generalist or HRBP experience, with strong exposure to employee relations, onboarding, and terminations in a decentralized, multi-state environment.
  • Knowledge of FLSA, payroll, and processes; prior payroll experience or close payroll partnership preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations (federal and state).
  • Highly detail-oriented with the ability to adapt quickly and shift priorities to align with business needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with tact, appropriateness, and professionalism

Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for employee relations issues, providing guidance and solutions aligned with Express Flooring’s policies and employment laws.
  • Partner with managers to address performance concerns, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into complaints or concerns, ensuring fairness, confidentiality, and timely resolution.
  • Build trust and credibility with employees by fostering open communication and proactive engagement.
  • Lead the new hire onboarding process, ensuring a smooth and welcoming transition into Express Flooring.
  • Partner with hiring managers to deliver effective orientation and integration plans.
  • Manage offboarding processes, including exit interviews and termination meetings, ensuring compliance, professionalism, and documentation accuracy.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to leaders on managing separations.
  • Partner with payroll to ensure timely and accurate processing of employee pay, bonuses, and deductions.
  • Support audits and ensure compliance with wage and hour laws.
  • Maintain HRIS data integrity, ensuring all employee records are accurate and up to date.
  • Assist with benefits administration and compliance reporting as needed.
  • Provide day-to-day HR guidance and support to employees and managers.
  • Collaborate with leadership to support organizational development initiatives and change management.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
  • Contribute to HR projects and process improvements to enhance the employee experience.
