About The Position

The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources Department within a fast-paced healthcare environment. This entry-level position plays an important role in supporting clinical and non-clinical staff while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and hospital policies. This role is ideal for someone beginning a career in Human Resources who is detail-oriented, service-focused, and passionate about supporting healthcare professionals who deliver quality patient care. Position Summary The HR Coordinator supports recruitment, onboarding, regulatory compliance, benefits administration, employee engagement initiatives, and personnel recordkeeping across the hospital system. The position works closely with HR leadership, department managers, nursing leaders, and staff to ensure a positive employee experience while maintaining compliance with healthcare employment regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 0–2 years of experience in customer service, administrative support, healthcare administration, or HR preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong communication skills and professionalism in a healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn HRIS systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment.
  • Willingness to travel to other hospital or clinic sites as required.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the HR Generalist with recruiting efforts for clinical and non-clinical positions, including coordinating interviews and communicating with candidates.
  • Support onboarding to ensure all healthcare-specific requirements are completed (background checks, licensure verification, immunization records, certifications, etc.).
  • Help facilitate new hire orientation for hospital staff in alignment with healthcare regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure onboarding and employment documentation meets federal, state, and healthcare accreditation standards.
  • Provide information to employees regarding healthcare benefits, paid time off, FMLA, workers' compensation, and insurance plans.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant personnel files in accordance with healthcare regulatory requirements.
  • Support employee recognition programs and hospital-sponsored events (Hospital Week, Nurses Week, Employee of the Month, Daisy Award, Petal Award).
  • Assist with learning and development coordination, including required regulatory training and compliance education.
  • Participate in updating job descriptions to reflect clinical licensure, credentialing, and qualification requirements.
  • Assist in communicating HR policies and procedures.
  • Provide professional, service-oriented support to staff across all departments.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee records and sensitive healthcare-related information.
  • Support HR projects that enhance workplace culture, retention, and regulatory readiness.
  • Support additional HR job duties assigned.
