About The Position

The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing a broad range of Human Resources functions, including but not limited to the following: benefit administration, employment, recruitment, and employee relations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Administers health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations. Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information, ensures accurate record-keeping, and proper deductions. Monthly reconciliations of benefit statements, including payroll audits. Partner with HR team to manage annual benefit open enrollment process, employee questions and benefit system support. Assists employees with new hire benefits enrollment and plan changes. Understand and interpret/communicate all human resources policies to employees. Assists with recruitment and interview processes, including reviewing, tracking, and documenting status of candidates in HRIS system. Provide support to managers, supervisors, and employees. Responds to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications. Facilitates new hire onboarding, welcomes, and orients new hires. Performs other duties as assigned. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. Proven experience in HR roles, showcasing expertise in benefits, recruitment, and HR processes. At least three years of human resource management experience preferred. SHRM-CP a plus. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Extremely approachable by employees, has an open-door demeanor and will be seen as a highly visible part of the team. Solid HRIS experience, preferably with Paylocity. Understands how to navigate and review data from an HRIS system, run reports, and make intelligent observations from people-data. Display well-developed and professional interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm, and possesses excellent time management and organizational skills needed to prioritize tasks effectively, and handle multiple deadlines. Knowledgeable and stays abreast of all California labor law updates and can simplify explanation to managers and employees. Considered the internal California labor law expert who can keep internal HR team updated on key legislative changes. Language Ability: Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish preferred. Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job are medium/heavy in nature. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities. Salary Description $68,000 - $77,000 DOE
