About The Position

Overview: Human Resources Intern will assist functional HR areas to learn and attain hands on experience with all capacities of HR field. HR Intern will be assigned projects that will enhance experience and teach on procedures for HR functions. This position reports to the HR Director at Wonderful Citrus. Here's what you'll do: Provide HR support, including but not limited to the following areas: employee relations, new employee orientation, company events, and leaves-of-absence. Actively communicates health and safety information to employees and participates in accident, injury and illness prevention activities. Administer policies and procedures as required, new hire paperwork including I-9s, W-4s, background screen, drug testing, etc. Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned processes. Develop and implement a proactive employee relations environment balancing management and employee concerns. Assist the HR team to support all major Human Resource procedures. Help deal with general employee questions, employee relations issues and company policy matters. Maintain HRIS to include Payroll and all HR requirements. Perform special projects as needed within the HR function. Answers incoming telephone calls and refers to proper manager for handling. Creates memos, and posts and distributes to employees. Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a full-time accredited university/college Junior/Senior standing.
  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within benefits and HR.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Must be highly proficient with Microsoft Office systems (specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations and compliance requirements
  • Ability to confidentially maintain personal information. Understands and respects the sensitive nature of information and handles discreetly and effectively.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills with a genuine desire to help and assist employees at all levels.
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
  • Excellent customer service skills and detail orientation.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and multi-task.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • The employee frequently is required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and climb or balance.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
