The Advocacy & Resource Center is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented professional to join our Human Resources team as an HR Specialist II. This full-time position plays an important role in supporting day-to-day HR operations, with a focus on benefits administration, employee status changes, and general departmental support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Office Technology, or a related field preferred
  • Two (2) years of office and Benefits experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; familiarity with HR or database systems a plus
  • Strong communication, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills
  • Ability to bend, twist, kneel, climb stairs or ladders, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds on occasion
  • Must possess a clean and valid New York State Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with insurance benefits administration
  • Coordinating and tracking FMLA, NY Paid Family Leave, NYPSL , NYSDBL and others
  • Supporting retirement benefits administration
  • Assisting with workers’ compensation cases and related documentation/Investigations
  • Supporting workplace ADA accommodations
  • Tracking and maintaining accurate records related to benefits, leave, wage, and employment status changes
  • Coordinating and communicating with staff and other departments
  • Maintaining accurate records and files in compliance with agency policies and deadlines
  • Performing general administrative duties and other tasks as assigned
