HVAC Apprentice – Local Union Program Required

What You Will Do As a Union HVAC Apprentice, you will support our commercial installation team on large-scale HVAC projects. You will gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced journeypersons while developing advanced technical skills in a structured union apprenticeship program. This role includes a company truck and gas card upon successful completion of the 90-day probationary period. Johnson Controls takes pride in developing apprentices into highly skilled journeypersons and long-term team members.
Requirements
- Active participant in a 5-year Local Union HVAC apprenticeship program (required)
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with mechanical or HVAC systems
- Basic computer and technology skills
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environment
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
Responsibilities
- Assist with installation of chillers, cooling towers, boilers, pumps, rooftop units, split systems, piping, and ductwork
- Work on commercial and industrial HVAC systems
- Follow Johnson Controls safety standards and PPE requirements at all times
- Participate in ongoing technical and safety training
- Collaborate in teams of 2–6 depending on project size
