About The Position

Performs new installation and service for system commissioning of HVAC systems including Air handlers, Boilers, chilled water systems, variable air volume boxes, fan coils and exhaust fans etc... using Johnson Controls configuration and Metasys building automation tools to commission, troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems. Responds to basic warranty calls. Provide our customers with the highest level of technical field support to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service related items. As a trusted advisor to our customers, you will provide solutions and outcomes at the time of service. Program and install new HVAC systems, help organize and execute projects to completion by communicating to project managers and preforming high quality point to point check out of systems. How you will do it Loads system-level controller software. Performs basic commissioning, system diagnostics and sequence testing from system-level controllers to end devices (i.e. sensors, relays, actuators, valves, etc) and completes all required commissioning documentation. Calibrates systems requiring basic electronic test equipment. Preform basic building management system commissioning and diagnostics by adding and removing commissioned equipment points, trending and alarming those points for the customers so that they may receive alerts via email or text in case of emergency. Trending those points for historical data to diagnose and maintain HVAC systems Keeps management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues. Documents changes and provide information for as-built documentation. Communicates with the JCI contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site. Completes administrative tasks including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation. Follows all safety standards and attends required safety training. High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety. Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure customers facility is running efficiently to include upselling opportunities.

Requirements

  • Entry level schooling (In school or graduated) or up to 2 years of experience electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field or at least 1-2 years of industry experience or experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
  • Generally required knowledge includes HVAC controls systems, electrical, facilities management systems, site preparation and coordination, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.
  • Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people.
  • Leadership skills to support the activities of Mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical Building Automation equipment on a job site.
  • PC experience required, the ability to learn and program HVAC related software and understanding of general information technology.
