About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented HVAC Equipment Estimator to support equipment and sheet metal estimating functions for commercial projects. This role requires strong mathematical and technical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously. The Estimator will collaborate with sales engineers, customers, consulting engineers, and manufacturers to develop accurate, competitive proposals that support overall sales performance. Direct training will be provided on company product lines and manufacturer systems. This position will provide support to enhance the effectiveness of company's sales efforts.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior estimating or HVAC industry experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed reviews of project specifications, drawings, and equipment selections to identify scope requirements and potential issues.
  • Coordinate with account sales engineers to address technical questions or clarifications with consulting engineers.
  • Develop optimized bills of material (BOM) and coordinate pricing with manufacturers and factory representatives.
  • Prepare comprehensive proposals for customer bid lists, outlining project scope, equipment selections, customer requirements, and value advantages.
  • Complete and maintain organized bid files, including selections, pricing, job recaps, and final proposals for sales engineer review.
  • Provide quote follow-up and back-up support to customers requesting pricing, product details, or project information.
  • Support sales efforts by delivering timely, accurate, and technically sound estimates.
  • Learn and develop in-depth knowledge of company product lines to optimize quoting accuracy.
  • Build competitive knowledge of represented manufacturers and competing products.
  • Utilize manufacturer systems for product selection, pricing, and ordering.
  • Strengthen ability to position equipment competitively within project bids.
