About The Position

Degree Heating & Cooling is an established company with over 30 years of experience providing top tier service and quality products in many areas around the Glastonbury, CT area. We’re looking for a Licensed HVAC Lead Installer to join our team at Degree Heating & Cooling. As the leader of your install crew, you’ll work hands-on while guiding apprentices to deliver high-quality installations for residential and light commercial customers. You’ll ensure every job is done right, safe, and to our high standards—all while providing excellent customer service. You have 5+ years of field experience and are looking for an opportunity to grow and be better supported You like to get the job done right the first time A strong communicator and a natural at explaining basic maintenance suggestions to customers You enjoy training and mentoring apprentices

Requirements

  • Licensed HVAC Installer in Connecticut (S-2, D-2, or equivalent)
  • 5+ years of HVAC field experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to read/interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals
  • Tech-savvy (comfortable with tablets, mobile apps, and work-related software)
  • Customer-focused, safety-minded, and detail-oriented
  • Willingness to work Saturdays/on-call rotations when needed

Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform installation of HVAC and refrigeration systems (residential + light commercial)
  • Mentor and train apprentices on-site, providing real growth opportunities
  • Diagnose and repair electronic, mechanical, and electrical components
  • Maintain truck inventory, tools, and safety practices
  • Provide clear, friendly communication to customers, including basic maintenance recommendations
  • Deliver accurate quotes and system calibrations per manufacturer standards
