Instrumentation Sr. Technician The Journey Level Senior Technician is responsible for performing technical tasks in support of the operation and maintenance of utility systems, Fab support equipment, building maintenance or chemical and gas delivery equipment. Activities include support in execution of construction, design and specification documentation, the startup and operation of facilities, mechanical, chemical, waste and electrical systems. In addition, performs preventive maintenance and repair as required while logging equipment inefficiencies. Requires compliance with all health, safety and environmental management system guidelines. Troubleshooting: Responds to All Equipment and asset failures to support expedited return to service Technical Leader: Contributes to the development of business practices and techniques Coaching : Coaches Junior Level Technicians on the expectations of work execution Quality and Safety Innovator: Makes recommendations for new technologies and innovative system improvements in support of both in house and capital projects Commissioning: Ensures all project installations meet site specifications and are aligned with process spec Training: Contributes to training development that supports Technician skill growth QA/QC: Constantly monitors overall PM execution and reports back to Supervisor Essential Responsibilities Receives some direction from Master Technician/TRs/Supervisors to prioritize non-routine daily tasks and/or projects. Supports execution of new assignment/projects based on the need of the department. Must have expert understanding of equipment/processes. Should demonstrate a deep level adaptability and the ability to change priorities based on the business needs. May provide mentoring to Junior Level Technicians. Has advanced understanding of SOPs. Works on high priority assignment that require a considerable amount of judgment and initiative. Completes tasks in innovative and effective ways. Performs Advanced Preventative/Corrective Maintenance: Tasked with completing PM/CPM improvement projects. Identifies areas of business process improvement opportunities and provides input as to which improvement projects need to be pursued. Troubleshoots complex issues that lower level technicians are unable to resolve. Decides which type of maintenance is needed, selects parts for replacement. Reviews and submits vendor invoices and payments. Coaches and train trains lower level technicians as needed. Networks with Master Tech, Operations, Engineering and controls to successfully facilitate completion of all activities assigned. May attend meetings to provide pass down for oncoming shifts. May participate on cross-functional teams. May conduct routine inspections and investigations. Interprets complex data from equipment, processes etc. Applies knowledge of relevant best practices, state and local code in area of expertise. Regular attendance and timeliness is required per departmental guidelines. Intermediate knowledge of relevant code regulations and ability to work independently within the broad scope of an objective. May require the ability to maintain a state license or certification as necessary (i.e., Journeyman License or CCST). Applicants must be legally able to work for ANY employer in the United States.
